Wish I had a daughter, just like you.
One to come home to, whenever I feel blue.
Someone to love, someone to care,
Making my life much easier to bear.
The apple of my eye,
With a wonderful smile,
And a twinkle in her eye,
Seeing me thro' mile after mile.
To every son, dad is his hero.
To a daughter, dad's her first love.
To every father, a son is his guardian.
But a daughter is his mother, born to him again.
Wish you were my daughter,
a lovely angel, all of fifteen.
Would love to watch you grow,
from a princess to a queen.
After all, being a father and daughter,
is not by just blood.
It's made of all those tiny little things,
That are best left unsaid.
One to come home to, whenever I feel blue.
Someone to love, someone to care,
Making my life much easier to bear.
The apple of my eye,
With a wonderful smile,
And a twinkle in her eye,
Seeing me thro' mile after mile.
To every son, dad is his hero.
To a daughter, dad's her first love.
To every father, a son is his guardian.
But a daughter is his mother, born to him again.
Wish you were my daughter,

Would love to watch you grow,

After all, being a father and daughter,
is not by just blood.
It's made of all those tiny little things,
That are best left unsaid.
