Best of Robin Williams

"I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that."

"See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time."

"I used to think the worst thing in life is to end up all alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone."

"You're only given a little spark of madness. Don't lose it."

"I'm sorry, if you were right, I'd agree with you."

"I believe in destiny. There must be a reason that I am as I am. There must be."

"We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering – these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love – these are what we stay alive for."

"Make your life spectacular, I know I did."

"Please, don't worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this Earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star steaks through the darkness, turning night into day...make a wish and think of me. Make your life spectacular."

"No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world."

"Divorce is expensive. I used to joke they were going to call it ‘all the money’ but they changed it to alimony."

"You will have bad times, but they will always wake you up to the stuff you weren’t paying attention to."

"Seize the day. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing."

"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always."

"You must strive to find your own voice because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all."

"You’re not perfect, sport. And let me save you the suspense. This girl you met, she isn’t perfect either. But the question is whether or not you’re perfect for each other. That’s the whole deal. That’s what intimacy is all about."

"Ah, yes, divorce… from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man’s genitals through his wallet."

"Even mistakes can be wonderful."

"There are no rules. Just follow your heart."

"Real loss is only possible when you love something more than you love yourself."

"I'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. But you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself. And I doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much."

"You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win, no matter what the outcome."

"It's amazing that medical science can develop a drug to give you an erection, but can't develop a drug to give you mental clarity."

"I don't know how much value I have in this universe, but I do know that I've made a few people happier than they would have been without me, and as long as I know that, I'm as rich as I ever need to be."

Time without you

My darling angel, The first time we had a long gap in seeing each other early this year, I mentioned that you can't do this to me. I have already missed so much of you that I miss you every moment I'm not with you. You said you would make it up to me by baking me something special every time we stayed away. I said you would have to give me time to compensate the days I miss you. For around a month or so, I took you to classes and brought you back home. We would spend an hour in all, driving to your class and back. So, we had agreed that for each day that you missed seeing me, you would give me an hour more of your time. It has been forty days now since we met last and I feel terrible without you. So, I decided to make note of the amount of time you need to give me now. Current period = 40 days Previous time = 30 days approximately Days in between = 15 days (Roughly the days you didn't have class) That makes it 85 days. In other words, you need to give me 85 hou...

I'm sorry

I'm sorry that you loved someone, But they made you feel like you asked for more than you deserved. I'm sorry that they abandoned you, when you needed them the most. It has made you believe that, being in love hurts. I'm sorry for all the trials and tribulations, that you had to face on your own. The sympathy, the snide remarks, the apathy, the bickering and the confusion. I'm sorry that you had to undergo all that you did. But it has made you a warrior from a queen. I salute you for your undying spirit and, for fighting your hurricanes with courage and poise.

High School Reunion - The aftermath

Dear friends, I'm back in Coimbatore and would like to share my thoughts with you. I would first start off with the customary 'thank you' for being there and having shared time with me. Those who couldn't make it, I hope we get to meet again some time. This is going to be a long long long really long read, so I suggest you take some time out to read through this. Grab a coffee (only coffee/tea) if you want. Make it two. This is heartfelt to each and everyone of you with whom I have spent the glorious days of my life, my childhood. About myself (blah, blah, more blah) - Matter of fact, those have been the only days that I have been mobile on my 'own' feet. Today my car is my feet, taking me to places and allowing me the liberty to meet people from various walks of life. Life took a nose dive for me when I was 16, thanks to the generous effort of Dr. Arvind Sangolli, whom most of us would know. Was given anabolic steriods without prior information for a nast...
