High School Reunion - The replies

One thing that I can surely say about you Suraj that your writing has improved leaps and bounds.  Your clarity of thought and dexterity is astounding. You could write a book on your favourite subject and I can bet that it will sell more than a million copies.

That apart folks I think he spoke my mind. We've all entered our 40s and it is time we paid a little more attention to our health. We have a family that looks up to us and still have a considerable amount of time before which to leave this place in peace. - Rajeev

Suraj – One of my best mates in class and a person who has gone through so much in life. The way he has taken on everything with a smile is awe inspiring. I am proud of your perseverance and strong will Suraj. We all have a leaf or two to imbibe from your life’s book. Coming to the good, bad and ugly part  - you spoke your mind and how ! It shows that you care – you care for old classmates most of whom after 26 years are near strangers frankly. Each person has his own lifestyle and while I am sure all of us are mature enough to  understand the travails of a rash lifestyle, Suraj felt it was the right thing to ‘advise’ us friends. After all he has gone through such turbulence and does not want us to take our good health (or rather ‘seemingly’ good health) for granted.

Thanks again Suraj. - Kartik (on the group)

Suraj. In my whatsapp the essay was truncated, but hope everyone got the whole message. There is a lesson for all of us. Thanks Suraj. - Bheem

Hi Suraj,,,hats off to you,,,agree to Rajeev on ur writing, - Wilfred

Suraj, no words to express. I am totally blank. That's all I want to say. - Manjunath (drunk driver)

Thanks Suraj for your thoughts and advice.  We all should take a leaf out of your sayings and come out more positive, healthy, and wise. - Tony (a good friend and I felt like kicking him)

Suraj nicely written v all r frnds for life, as Rajeev said lifestyle of each one of us differ. Your  thought shall b taken positively by us👍🏻 - Ravi (the hulk)

Time without you

My darling angel, The first time we had a long gap in seeing each other early this year, I mentioned that you can't do this to me. I have already missed so much of you that I miss you every moment I'm not with you. You said you would make it up to me by baking me something special every time we stayed away. I said you would have to give me time to compensate the days I miss you. For around a month or so, I took you to classes and brought you back home. We would spend an hour in all, driving to your class and back. So, we had agreed that for each day that you missed seeing me, you would give me an hour more of your time. It has been forty days now since we met last and I feel terrible without you. So, I decided to make note of the amount of time you need to give me now. Current period = 40 days Previous time = 30 days approximately Days in between = 15 days (Roughly the days you didn't have class) That makes it 85 days. In other words, you need to give me 85 hou...

I'm sorry

I'm sorry that you loved someone, But they made you feel like you asked for more than you deserved. I'm sorry that they abandoned you, when you needed them the most. It has made you believe that, being in love hurts. I'm sorry for all the trials and tribulations, that you had to face on your own. The sympathy, the snide remarks, the apathy, the bickering and the confusion. I'm sorry that you had to undergo all that you did. But it has made you a warrior from a queen. I salute you for your undying spirit and, for fighting your hurricanes with courage and poise.

High School Reunion - The aftermath

Dear friends, I'm back in Coimbatore and would like to share my thoughts with you. I would first start off with the customary 'thank you' for being there and having shared time with me. Those who couldn't make it, I hope we get to meet again some time. This is going to be a long long long really long read, so I suggest you take some time out to read through this. Grab a coffee (only coffee/tea) if you want. Make it two. This is heartfelt to each and everyone of you with whom I have spent the glorious days of my life, my childhood. About myself (blah, blah, more blah) - Matter of fact, those have been the only days that I have been mobile on my 'own' feet. Today my car is my feet, taking me to places and allowing me the liberty to meet people from various walks of life. Life took a nose dive for me when I was 16, thanks to the generous effort of Dr. Arvind Sangolli, whom most of us would know. Was given anabolic steriods without prior information for a nast...
