Why discriminate?

I am cuddly & cute.
Now, that's no dispute.
If you teach me, I won't bite nor will I chew,
You'll never hear me complain, not even a mew.

 I play with your kids, gives me a kick.
And when you are late, it makes me sick.
I need not breed, you are my family,
As father, mother, son or brother, we live happily.

 As I grow up, I guard your house.
No one shall enter, no mouse...
No male.
So, is it really a bother
That I am female?

 - My very first attempt at a poem, ever. Dedicated to the wonderful volunteers of Humane Animal Society (Coimbatore) for their yeoman service, and to the amazing beings on earth - without whom life wouldn't be worth living at all.

I'm sorry

I'm sorry that you loved someone, But they made you feel like you asked for more than you deserved. I'm sorry that they abandoned you, when you needed them the most. It has made you believe that, being in love hurts. I'm sorry for all the trials and tribulations, that you had to face on your own. The sympathy, the snide remarks, the apathy, the bickering and the confusion. I'm sorry that you had to undergo all that you did. But it has made you a warrior from a queen. I salute you for your undying spirit and, for fighting your hurricanes with courage and poise.

High School Reunion - The aftermath

Dear friends, I'm back in Coimbatore and would like to share my thoughts with you. I would first start off with the customary 'thank you' for being there and having shared time with me. Those who couldn't make it, I hope we get to meet again some time. This is going to be a long long long really long read, so I suggest you take some time out to read through this.
